The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD), established in April 1970, is a national level professional & non-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. This society has chapters across India and focuses on the training and development of Human Resource from Government, Public and Private Sector Organizations & Enterprises; Educational and Training Institutions and other Professional Bodies. Trivandrum chapter has been in the forefront of the ISTD activities on the national basis. This chapter initially started at IMG under the leadership of Dr .Padma Ramachandran has grown to possess its own building. This chapter is the first chapter to operate from its own building. Number of seminars, training programs are offered by ISTD. Many leading academic institutions have started ISTD student chapters.
For the benefit of the students, many lectures and seminars are organised. The Managing committee holds its meetings regularly during third Saturday of every month on hybrid mode. The next year activities are already planned and going to be implemented in a systemic manner with the support of the dynamic Secretary Dr. Leeba Babu and her team. The directory of all members is itself a testament to the work started intitally by Sri Venugopal and completed successfully by the present Secretary Dr. Leeba Babu.
